LDAP Maintenance
Scheduled Downtime: 6:00 AM – 7:00 AM Monday, June 8th
Services Impacted: Account Center, Portal, other campus systems
From 6:00-7:00 AM on Monday, June 8th campus authentication will undergo testing. This will allow us to verify that services move to the cloud as expected. SSO authentication will be down briefly twice: when services move from the on-campus servers to the cloud, and again when services move back from the cloud to on-campus servers. This will affect many campus systems, including the Portal. Account Center will also be unavailable for the duration of the test.
PeopleSoft Maintenance
Scheduled Downtime: 5:30 PM Friday February 28th – 5:00 PM Saturday February 29th
Services Impacted: All PeopleSoft (CS & HR) and related applications
This maintenance window is being planned to allow for the upgrade of Oracle services at the Chancellor’s Office for all CMS applications. During this maintenance window all PeopleSoft services will be offline and unavailable.
Blackboard Extended Downtime
Scheduled Downtime: December 25th 12:01 AM – December 27th 11:59 PM
Services Impacted: Blackboard Learn
Blackboard is moving to the cloud!
Blackboard Learn is scheduled to move to SaaS hosting on December 25-27th. This will require a three-day downtime.
What are the benefits of SaaS? This new delivery model is more flexible than our current hosting plan:
- Reduced downtime. After this change is complete, we will be able to complete most maintenance updates without ever taking Blackboard offline.
- Higher quality. Because we will receive continuous software updates, we will always be running the latest bug fixes from Blackboard.
- Faster access to new features. The SaaS model allows us to deliver new features faster than we have in the past.
- Peace of mind. Blackboard’s experienced hosting team will be on-duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so that our technicians can focus on other strategic priorities.

Database Maintenance
Scheduled Downtime: 5:00 AM – 8:00 AM Tuesday, November 19th
Services Impacted: Oracle Databases (affects multiple campus systems)
The campus Oracle databases will undergo maintenance 5:00 AM – 8:00 AM Tuesday, November 19th. This will affect multiple campus systems that rely on this service including Cascade, Data Warehouse, Identity Management, GoPrint, and Portal.
LDAP Upgrade
Scheduled Downtime: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM Saturday, November 23rd
Services Impacted: LDAP Authentication (used by many campus systems)
The campus LDAP system will be upgraded Saturday, November 23rd 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM. The service, and many other campus services that rely on it, will be unavailable during this upgrade. These services include Portal, Account Center, WildcatMail, and Blackboard. Any service that relies on LDAP, Shibboleth, or CAS for authentication will not be available. This does not include Active Directory authenticated services such as Exchange Email and Box.
Account Center Upgrade
UPDATE: After further testing revealed some issues this upgrade will be delayed to a later date.
Scheduled Downtime: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM Saturday, October 26th
Services Impacted: Account Center
Account Center will be upgraded on Saturday, October 26th beginning at 8:00 AM. Account Center will be unavailable during the upgrade process. Account Center is used to create and manage campus accounts, manage account passwords, and manage account display names. We estimate that Account Center will be available again by 12:00 PM.
Emergency Wireless Network Maintenance
Maintenance Window: Wednesday, July 10th 5:30 – 6:00 PM
Services Impacted: Campus Wireless Networks
Wireless network maintenance is planned for 5:30 – 6:00 PM today to address network instability issues. During this maintenance window campus wireless networks will be unavailable.
Account Center Upgrade
Scheduled Downtime: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Friday June 21st
Services Impacted: Account Center
Account Center will be upgraded on Friday, June 21st beginning at 9:00 AM. Account Center will be unavailable during the upgrade process. Account Center is used to create and manage campus accounts, manage account passwords, and manage account display names. We estimate that Account Center will be available again by 5:00 PM.
PeopleSoft Extended Downtime
Scheduled Downtime: 5:00 PM Friday May 10th to 8:00 PM Saturday May 11th
Services Impacted: All PeopleSoft Access
There will be an outage of the Campus Solutions (CS) and Human Resources (HR) PeopleSoft application from 5:00 PM May 10th to 8:00 PM Saturday May 11th. HR and CS PeopleSoft services will be down during this window. This includes all administrative access, student self-service, faculty self-service, and employee self-service.
