During this maintenance period, campus voicemail will undergo configuration changes for integration with other systems. Voicemail will be unavailable during this work; callers to the voicemail system will instead receive a message indicating the system is down for planned maintenance.

North-campus Phone System Electrical Work

Scheduled Downtime: Beginning 5:00 AM Tuesday, December 29

This maintenance is being scheduled to allow for changes and improvements to electrical power supporting the campus phone system. During this maintenance window, north campus phone services will experience several interruptions in service, lasting up to 15 minutes each. This will affect all campus buildings north of Big Chico Creek, except SHC. The FMS/corporation yard will also be affected. In addition to office phone lines, elevator and blue light/emergency phones will also be impacted in affected buildings.

Phone System Network Maintenance

Scheduled Downtime: 6:30 AM Monday, November 23 to 7:30 AM Monday, November 23
Services Impacted: Brief interruptions in campus telephone service
Anticipated Availability: 7:30 AM Monday, November 23

 This maintenance is planned to make changes to the network interconnecting the various components of the campus PBX (phone system), to improve system redundancy and availability. During this maintenance window, all campus voice services may experience short (<10 minute) interruptions in service, including access to voicemail, automatic call distribution systems, and basic telephone service. The 911 system used by the University Police is not reliant on the campus phone system, and will not be affected.

Anticipated Availability: 7:00 AM Monday, July 20th

During the maintenance window outlined above, campus voicemail services may be unavailable. During this time, callers will be unable to leave or retrieve messages, but will instead hear a message indicating the system is under maintenance. In addition to typical voicemail messaging, phone trees/call processors handled by that system will also be affected. (i.e. ‘press 1 for person A, press 2 for person B’ prompting). All services are expected to be fully operational no later than 7:00 AM that same day.

During this time, callers will be unable to leave or retrieve messages, but will instead hear a message indicating the system is under maintenance. In addition to typical voicemail messaging, phone trees/call processors handled by that system will also be affected. (i.e. ‘press 1 for person A, press 2 for person B’ prompting).

All services are expected to be fully operational no later than 12:00 noon that same day.

Wireless Client Software Requirements for Macintosh and Windows Systems

Beginning Wednesday July 1st, campus wireless security standards will begin to be enforced for Windows and Macintosh devices. The ClearPass OnGuard Network Access Control (NAC) client, included with the Eduroam configuration, will verify the health of your client device, and ensures it complies with campus security standards before being granted access to the network.
