Account Center will be upgraded on Friday, June 21st beginning at 9:00 AM. Account Center will be unavailable during the upgrade process. Account Center is used to create and manage campus accounts, manage account passwords, and manage account display names. We estimate that Account Center will be available again by 5:00 PM.

Tomcat will be upgraded to 8.5.x on eads-iam02, one of the Account Center application servers. No Account Center downtime is expected, but users who are logged in will be required to log in again as traffic switches servers.
Since the switch to Account Center, “generic account” sponsors have not been receiving notifications before those account passwords have been expiring.
We have put in place a new process very similar to the pre-Account Center password expiration notifications. Starting on July 23rd, every Monday any generic account whose password will expire within the next three weeks will receive a notification of the impending expiration. This means three notifications will be sent out prior to password expiration. If the account is mail enabled the account itself will receive the notification. If the account is “domain only” with no mailbox the sponsor for the account will receive the notifications instead. Instructions for how to change a generic account password will be included in the notification email.

Services Impacted: Peoplesoft Self Service including the Student Center, Faculty Center and State Employee tabs in the Portal
Peoplesoft Self Service and Portal will be upgraded to improve the Single-Sign-On experience for campus. The following services will be migrated from the existing CAS server, to the existing Shibboleth server which supports CAS single-sign on:
Duo Users enrolled in 2 step verification – all systems listed above will now require 2 step verification.
Beginning now, all faculty, staff, and student account passwords will have an expiration date, and periodically require a reset. This is part of the transition to Account Center, and helps ensure that campus accounts remain secure. If you haven’t recently changed your password you will receive an email notifying you of password expiration. You will receive subsequent reminders until you change your password.
The expiration notices will look like the below image. Read the “Note” for tips on how to determine if an email is from a legitimate sender.
To avoid having your password expire you can go to the CSU, Chico Portal now to confirm your account recovery information and set a new password.
CSU, Chico has moved to a new account and identity management system called Account Center. This new system controls the way that campus accounts are created and managed, and provides a number of improvements over previous systems including more self-service and password recovery options.
Please login to the Portal and go to Account Center to ensure that your password recovery information and display name are correct. We recommend you do this now to ensure your access to campus resources for the fall semester.

Services Impacted: LDAP & Multiple Campus Services
As part of the ongoing Account Center implementation the LDAP directory will be undergo maintenance at 5:00 PM today. All campus authentication and authorization based on LDAP, CAS, or Shibboleth will be unavailable during this maintenance. This includes the Portal, WildcatMail, Campus wireless, and other campus services. This will not affect Exchange Email. This maintenance is estimated to be take one hour, but could be longer.
