Since the switch to Account Center, “generic account” sponsors have not been receiving notifications before those account passwords have been expiring.
We have put in place a new process very similar to the pre-Account Center password expiration notifications. Starting on July 23rd, every Monday any generic account whose password will expire within the next three weeks will receive a notification of the impending expiration. This means three notifications will be sent out prior to password expiration. If the account is mail enabled the account itself will receive the notification. If the account is “domain only” with no mailbox the sponsor for the account will receive the notifications instead. Instructions for how to change a generic account password will be included in the notification email.
